Session:
My heart was pounding as we sprinted through the forest, a grey hound at our heels.
"Maisie!” Evelyn cried. "Where can we hide?"
I looked around, trees were flying past, but there was no sign of anywhere we could hide.
"I don't know! " I yelled.
Suddenly, I spotted an old haunted house in the clearing.
" Look!" I shouted, " We could hide in that house."
“Okay,” Evelyn called.
We stumbled to the front door and bolted it. After we got in, I found two sturdy leather chairs for us to sit on. Evelyn went into the kitchen and found a few stale pieces of bread, some jam and an egg. We set the food and plates on the table and placed the chairs around it.
When we finished eating, Evelyn and I went upstairs to look for a place to sleep. Once we got upstairs, we entered a room. Inside it there was a bed with two pillows, a bedside table and a cabinet. Also, there was a pair of frayed curtains hiding a window. Through the window, the world outside had dissolved into darkness.
“I’ll sleep on the floor,” I said, “Just in case.”
I grabbed a pillow, a sheet, and a blanket and laid them on the floor. Me and Evelyn fell asleep as quickly as a cheetah running. Once, we were asleep, a man in black crept in and with a tranquillizer dart, knocked us unconscious. Then using a rope, the man bounded our arms and legs together. He and his helpers carried us onto his truck.
